And away we go...

So it's Jan. 10, 2009 and I've finally decided to further pursue documenting my dining experiences in Atlanta. In the past year or so, I've noted a number of places I've dined and made attempts to summarize and describe these outings.

In Edible Atlanta, I'll merely reference these previous reviews via the following link: http://moosetraks.spaces.live.com/

Going forward, I'll focus on my experiences in uncovering gastronomic gems in the Atlanta area. On occasion, I'll provide feedback on chain's and places I've tried while on the road. Additionally, I document any outstanding home dining experiences.

As an example, today we attempted to go to Flip; however, we should have realizze this would be a chore on Saturday afternoon...we'll need to wait a while for the hype to die down. Instead, we tried Nuavo Larado Cantina and it was also overflowing with awaiting diners. After a round about trip to Vinings, we wound up at Willy's and had burritos...a far cry from the original idea. Sometimes, that's how it goes...life is better if you just go with the flow. Tasty combo burrito (Cilantro -garlic steak and adobe chicken) with cheese, roasted peppers, black olives and cilantro with a side of guac. Of all the California style burrito shack's in town, Willy's in near the top - primarily due to the range of toppings. Chipotle can be good - I like the organic approach - but am just not a fan of big chain concepts. Oh, how I miss the days of Green Chile burritos and cheese quesidillas from Tortilla's on Ponce.

Then this evening we had a very interesting meal at home. We had Italian Eggplant, with an eggwash and coated in purried stuffing mix. Served atop tofu fettucine noodles with a Havarti cream sauce. This is definitely a do -over. The Havarti had a smoother, creamer quality than the traditional parmesean approach.
